A big thank you to Mr. Carrano for visiting our classroom yesterday as a guest speaker. He spoke on the subject of Daniel Bernoulli and the principle of aerodynamics. Complex yes, but our children were engaged and fascinated with the lesson. He demonstrated the balancing of air pressure and the force of gravity with a captivating demonstration of a floating ping pong ball. As a culminating activity students created paper airplanes, and they all had an opportunity to compete to see whose would fly the furthest. The kids all had a blast! Thank you Mr. Carrano!

Next week is a short week. The majority of Monday will be spent on Discovery Day activities. Thursday is noon dismissal. So, "week 26" will resume the week we return from Spring Break. This means students will not have spelling homework for next week. And their reading assignment will be different than the expected online PDF stories. For clarification on homework assignments for next week, please be sure to check our class site on our school's website. Also, students are expected to bring back their Social Studies biography rough draft on Monday. Lastly, urgent reminders are sent through the remind101 text. If you are not yet subscribe, please please please subscribe NOW. Thank you! Mrs. An Dear Parents,
Students have recently been engaging in a Project Based Learning assignment for Social Studies. Each student was assigned a famous hero to research. Most of the work and research is being conducted in the classroom, and the majority of the assignment has been completed to date. However, on Wednesday, I will have students take their drafted paper home. Parents can assist in checking for accuracy of information, and help in gathering facts for the timeline portion of the project. Students are expected to visit the below listed sites to acquire information necessary for a successful project. Please have your child bring their draft back to school by Monday, March 21, 2016. I appreciate your support! Duckerster Garden of Paradise KidsKonnect Educational Synthesis Biographies Kids' Search Engine Blessings, Mrs. An |
