Hello Parents,
The following parents will be chaperoning for the upcoming field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Mrs. Benschop Mrs. Carrano Mrs. Johnston Mrs. Sherman Mrs. Soos Chaperones were chosen on a first come first serve basis. We will have more field trips in the near future, so don't be disheartened if you were not asked to volunteer this time around. Chaperones will be attending free of cost. Please make sure to bring a sacked lunch for yourself. Mrs. An Hello Parents, In recent weeks I have had a few parents wondering how they can better prepare their children for their Social Studies exam. Below I am attaching our Social Studies learning objective for each lesson. Also, reviewing the Social Studies lesson pamphlet with your child at home will have them better prepared for quizzes and exams.

A few things to discuss: 1) Please check to see that your child is mindful of their penmanship. Should their work be messy, they will be asked to redo it during recess. 2) Answering the reading homework questions in a complete sentence is expected. For example, if the question asks "Why did Langston Hughes want to go to college? the correct response would be to write: "Langston Hughes wanted to go to college because he wanted to become a writer." The following response is not acceptable: "He wanted to become a writer." 3) Spelling homework should be labeled with the title and the date. 4) Students are responsible to write down everything that teacher writes on the board for homework. Teacher will always write on the board when exams will take place, and students are to take home with them their pretest and review it as part of their homework. Pretests are taken inside the classroom a day prior to the test date. 5) Please please please check your child's agenda and behavior chart DAILY. Initial or sign to indicate that it has been checked. Initiating on your child's agenda shows me that you have checked to see that your child's homework has been completed correctly and neatly. THANK YOU! Hello Parents,
Please make sure to complete your child's cards as soon as possible and send them back to school with your child no later than Monday, February 8, 2016. Keep in mind, the cards will be given to your children at their First Communion retreat. The content of the cards should be congratulating your children on having made their First Reconciliation and for soon to be receiving their First Communion. Thank you! Hello Parents,
There are a few assignments due in the month of October. Please don't forget these important dates: Friday, October 2: Classroom prayer exam Tuesday, October 13: Family History Culture Project due Friday, October 23: Cereal Book Report Project due Moreover, a few things to keep in mind as students are completing their homework at home. Questions should be answered in a complete sentence. All sentences must begin with a capital letter, punctuation mark, have a subject and predicate. These are skills we have learned in first grade and are continuing to learn in second grade. Please reinforce neatness at home as well. Messy handwriting will require students to redo their work during their snack/lunch time. As always, I appreciate your support! Mrs. An
